Kodocha Discs 7-8

Posted in Uncategorized on July 28, 2006 by jopchan121

It seems a week after I got the Negima DVD, I would get the Second Box of Kodocha.

The Box is different this time, as the box opens from the bottom, night sideways like the first Box. And, If you have gotten the box, you get not one but two DVD’s, and A Babbit plushie. The plushie has a frown, but that’s ok(I wonder what they’ll do for Box 3)

Contentwise, we end up in a filler arc of sorts. Stand alone episodes that are actually good.Laura Bailey as Sana is always gold in this set of episoded. Note-There is some definate WTF moments, one especially with Obana, the Author of Kodocha the manga, But a really good release, better than Negima this time.

 Grade-98

Next up- Negima R1 DVD 2

Kanon 2006 Prelude

First-The box-Very Sturdy-Very Heavy compared to the R2 Box.

Note- They Mispelled Satsuki Yotsuba’s name(Yotshuba?!?!)

Songs are Not dubbed,However, They do cycle, just like the original.
Extras include Character profiles on Negi, Asuna and Nodoka, A text on Schools in Japan, Clean Op/ED and Trailers(Watch the Funimation Films trailer, You’ll be pleasantly suprised, as I was(FMA movie, perhaps?).

Also, The credits feature someting rare in a Funimation release-the Japanese cast list.

If you bought the box, you get Stickers and a Asuna Figumate(If you have set 4, You have this figumate….

Video Ratio is at 4:3.
As per the Dub, I give it a B-.

THEY MISPRONOUNCED MAKIE’S NAME! Even Greg said it wrong. Therefore, The blame has to go toward the ADR Director, not the actors, as Greg is a seasoned actor, and he would have said it correctly,(Edit-9 months later, I realise they are correct.>_>)

The star here is not Luci, nor even Greg. In this production, Leah Clark was the best voice of them all, Very shy, Very Cute.

No Kaede “Nin nin,” No Baka Rangers(They called them “The great dummy force”)…..

I’m nitpicking. Otherwise, it is a rather solid release.

Grade -86. Note-Look at ep. 2. Same as the r2, watch Negi’s staff. LOL
